Heart of the Dragon Ensemble

Beijing-born Han Ying began her musical studies at the age of six with the piano, later taking up the Yang Qin (Chinese Cimbalom) with Zhou Ying Yun at the Shen Zhen Arts School. At the invitation of Prof Wang Guo Tong she commenced studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1997 on full scholarship, graduating in 2001 with the Advanced Diploma in both Yang Qin and Chinese Percussion.

Ying’s varied performance career has included concerts as both soloist and accompanist with various Chinese music ensembles in China, Hong Kong and parts of Europe, including Austria, Holland and the UK.
